August 11 A Khilafwarzi Inspector has been suspended by the District administration Islamabad (Anantnag), ‘In view of his non-cooperation in stopping encroachment and removal of structures, and  other complaints. The Kashmiriyat had informed the officials about illegal constructions that were going on at the Mehandi Kadal- Ashajipora Bypass Road after which the officials led by Deputy commissioner of Islamabad (Anantnag) and Executive Officer MCA stopped the construction work at the river side. Search Operation Launched in Islamabad Town

ISLAMABAD
August 11 A heavy Contingent of Government Forces has reached the Green Colony locality of Janglat Mandi area in the main town of South Kashmir's Islamabad District. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police have jointly launched a search operation in the Green Colony area in Janglat Mandi. The Forces have been doing rounds of the lanes and by-lanes in the area, however they have not barged into any houses as of yet. They have blocked the entry and the exit points to the Green Colony area, Locals said. When the Local Police official was contacted by The Kashmiriyat he said that there is no cordon in place. "The patrol has been enacted in view of the nearing 15 August (Indian Independence Day)," he said.

DC Islamabad Stops Illegal Construction on River Side

August 10 The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad (Anantnag) District in South Kashmir has stopped ilegal Contructions on the Arpat (Jhelum tributary) riverside. In an appreciable move, the Deputy commissioner himself directed the officials to stop the illegal construction work going on the Newly constructed bypass which runs parallel to the lone river of the South Kashmir town. A building was being constructed just few meters away from the river side. Three Injured in Bear Attack at Qazigund

ISLAMABAD
August 10 Sheikh Nadeem/ Waris Shah Three persons were injured when a bear attacked them on Friday at Manzmoh area of Qazigund in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a wild bear entered into a residential area and attacked people who were working in the fields. In the attack three persons identified as Mukhtar Ahmed son of Dawood Ahmed Chichi, Gulab Noori wife of Said Wali Jinjoo and another villager from manzmoh were injured. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the three were rushed to a nearby hospital where they being treated. A report published in 2013 stated that, In last 10 years, 200 people got killed and more than 500 got injured in human animal conflict in different parts of the Kashmir Valley.

Drug Peddler Arrested in Kokernag Area

August 10 SHEIKH NADEEM/ WARIS SHAH The Jammu Kashmir Police on Friday morning claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in Zalangam area of Kokernag belt of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Police officials told The Kashmiriyat that during a patrol at Zalangam Kokernag, the Police stopped a vehicle bearing the registration number JK13A 3234. During the frisking of the said vehicle, the Jammu Kashmir Police seized two bags of poppy straw from the Santro car and took into detention the driver. The Jammu Kashmir Police identified the drug peddler as Aqib  Ahmad Mantoo, a resident of Waghama Bijbehara . The Police has lodged an FIR number 109/ 2018 in this regard and taken up further investigations.

Haji from Islamabad Passes Away in Mecca

August 09 A Haji identified as Abdul Aziz Kumar, a resident of Takiya Behram Shah locality in Harnag has passed away after a brief illness during the annual Hajj Pilgrimage on Wednesday. A Family member of Aziz told The Kashmiriyat that Abdul Aziz who was on an annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca and Medinah died due to a brief illness in the Holy Islamic city of  Mecca. Food Safety Department Initiates Action against Paradise Hotel in Pahalgam

August 06 The Food Safety Department of Jammu Kashmir Government on Monday inspected the premises of Paradise Hotel & Restaurant in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir and took action against the hotel for not following a proper dress code. The team of food safety department was headed by Assistant Commissioner of the department, Islamabad (Anantnag). Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the Assistant Director of Food Safety Department said that Action has been initiated against the Hotel adding that the samples of food have been sent for laboratory analysis.
