Forces Assualt Driver in Islamabad, Locals Block National Highway

ISLAMABAD
August 01 The Government Forces allegedly assaulted a driver on national Highway near Harnag in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag). Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that a driver was mercilessly assaulted by Indian Army early morning on Wednesday. Hundreds of locals later intervened and rescued the driver post which they raised Pro Freedom and Pro Islam Anti India slogans, Locals told The Kashmiriyat. They blocked the national Highway in protest against the merciless thrashing of the driver at the hands of Indian Army. The driver as per the locals has been shifted to the District hospital Islamabad for treatment. The protest was going on when this report was filed.

Man Dies After falling down from a tree

ISLAMABAD
August 01 A Man died after falling down from a poplar tree in Sipapora in Akingam area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district late evening on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Riyaz Ahmed Wani Son of Asad Wani, a resident of Asad Wani was trimming the poplar tree when he fell down. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, however upon reaching the hospital, he was declared 'brought dead' by the doctors. The deceased was laid to rest at his native village in Akingam area.

Search Operation in Laizbal Islamabad

ISLAMABAD
July 31 The Government Forces on Tuesday launched a Search operation in Lazibal area on KP road in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the vehicles of Forces reached the area on Tuesday afternoon and started a search operation in the area. The Army and Jammu Kashmir Police is jointly conducting the search operation. A Police official said it was a 'normal' patrol however locals contested the version of Police and said that the troops are frisking every lane and by lane in the area.

CASO Launched at Two Different Places in Islamabad District

ISLAMABAD
July 30 Two Places in Islamabad District have been sieged by Government Forces following specific inputs about Militant presence in the areas. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 19 RR of Indian Army 164 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police laid a cordon and search operation in Mir Maidan area of Dooru in South Kashmir's Islamabad District. The entry and exit points to Mir Maidan have been sealed. Another CASO has been launched at Harpora in Sirigufwara area of Islamabad (Anantnag) District. A door to door search operation has been launched by 3 RR of Indian Army, 96 Batllion of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police. Both the search operations were going on when this report was filed.

Grenade Attack in Islamabad-3 CRPF men Injured

July 30 Three CRPF personnel have been injured in a Greande attack at Sherbagh area of Islamabad township in South Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons hurled a Greande on CRPF camp in Sherbagh area on Monday evening injuring three CRPF men. Hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat that the CRPF men have received minor injuries. They are stable now, a hospital official said.

Umer was arrested on 12 September last year for his alleged role in stone-throwing and was kept under detention for more than a month after which he was released for a day. 8 Cows in Shangus- People Aghast

July 30 Sheikh Nadeem/ Waris Shah Eight Cows were stolen by thieves in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday at Brah Rajwara area of Shangus in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. An Owner while talking to The Kashmiriyat said that during intervening night thieves broke into the cowsheds of many families and stole cows from there. The owners identified as Syed  Mumtaz son of  Fazil Ali shah said that, "we saw the locks of cowsheds broken and after  entering in cowsheds we found nothing here." He said that they have lodged FIR in police station Mattan with a hope Police will take action against the culprits and get the cows back as soon as possible. The other owners include Syed fazil ali shah, Syed jamat ali shah, Abdul Majeed wagay.

Cloudburst Causes Damage in Kokernag Belt- MLA Asks for Compensation

July 29 There have been incidents of cloud bursts at many places in Kokernag area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district during the past few days, causing a lot of damage to agriculture and threat to the public lives. The areas that have suffered in the past few days include, Mathindoo, Rein-Arther, Guridraman, Ahlan Gadol, wandewalgam, Zalangam, Bindoo, Kokernag. There has been a lot of damage to crops and plantations and the flash floods have also caused errosion to the land and damaged few residential structures. July 29 One more youth from South Kashmir has picked arms and posed with an AK 47 rifle to tell his family that he has joined Militant ranks. The youth has been identified as Aarif Ahmed Mir Son of Abdul Rehman Mir a resident of Pahalgam area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District.
