China Deploys Battlefield Tanks Near LAC in Eastern Ladakh

China continues to provoke India despite Indian and Chinese military commanders holding several rounds of disengagement talks to defuse the tensions at Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, Times of India reported.

China’s military has deployed around 350 tanks near the LAC. China has deployed a huge number of sophisticated main battlefield tanks ‘Type 99’ close to the border of India. In many areas, including Despang Area and South Bank, the PLA has deployed its tanks.

Since May 5 The Indian and Chinese armies have been in a stalemate at multiple locations in eastern Ladakh. The tension escalated manifold after a violent clash in Galwan Valley in which 20 Indian Army personnel were killed.

Since then, both the nuclear-powered nations have held nine rounds of talks.

The ninth round of talks between India and China was held on January 24 at Moldo border point on the Chinese side of the LAC in eastern Ladakh. The meeting lasted for 16 hours and ended at 2:30 pm on January 25. After this a joint statement was released regarding the military commander-level meeting, saying it was ‘positive, practical and constructive.
