According to a Reuters report, two Indian officials have suggested that despite India-China’s high-level meetings to de-escalate tensions at the Line of Actual Control (LAC), China is preparing for the long run as they are reportedly laying a network of optical fibre cables south of Pangong Lake in Ladakh.
A senior Indian official stated that the optical fibre cables were recently spotted and would allow Chinese soldiers at the front lines to have secure lines of communication to bases in the rear.
Reuters reported that the Chinese foreign ministry did not give any immediate answers to their questions regarding the Indian officials’ statements.
Currently, thousands of Chinese and Indian soldiers along with their tanks and aircraft are facing each other in a standoff along a 70 km-long front to the south of the Pangong lake.
Since last week’s meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries, neither India nor China has significantly withdrawn from the standoff and there had been no reinforcements on either side, according to a third Indian official’s statement on Monday.
“It is as tense as earlier,” the third indian official said.
“Our biggest worry is that they have laid optical fibre cables for high-speed communications,” the first official stated.
“They have been laying optical fibre cables on the southern bank at breakneck speed,” he added.
He also stated that the Indian military still depends on radio communications, although it is encrypted.
Commenting on the Chinese soldiers potentially using Optical fibre cables, a former Indian military intelligence official said, “If you speak on radio, it can get caught. Communications on optical fibre cables is secure.”
According to the second government official, about a month ago Indian intelligence agencies had noticed similar cables to the north of the Pangong Tso lake.
The first Indian official stated the authorities were notified about such build-ups after satellite imagery displayed unfamiliar lines in the sand of the high-altitude deserts to the south of Pangong Tso.
The official also added that Indian experts along with foreign intelligence agencies identified the lines and claimed that they were communication cables laid in trenches, in the south of Pangong Tso, including among hilltop area near the Spanggur gap, where both countries’ soldiers fired in the air recently for the first time in decades.
Indian officials said that the development in the border infrastructure on their side is also a possible reason for the months-long confrontation.
China has many times complained about India building infrastructures like roads and airstrips in and around their disputed border and has even stated it to be the reason for the rising tensions along the LAC.buy viagra black online https://www.lifefoodstorage.store/wp-content/themes/astra/languages/en/viagra-black.html no prescription
