Intense clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Lal chowk area of south Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) township.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Independence and Anti India slogans hit the streets and threw stones on Forces deployed in the area.
The forces deployed in the area fired tear smoke shells to disperse them, however the clashes were going on when this report was filed.
The clashes erupted after the news of a Militant killing in the exchange of gunfire between militants and Government forces at Renzipora area in Awantipora belt of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
The Slain Militant was identified as Ishfaq Yousuf Wani son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani of Koil area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
