Cleric goes missing from Kulgam, Family seeks help

A man has gone missing from his home in the Behibagh area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, his brother said that a man identified as Mufti Nazir Ahmed Dar, who is a resident of Behibagh had gone missing from his residence on the 28th of January 2023.

Aged 35, Nazir Ahmed Dar had been called to the Police on January 27 for some verification process of a Darul Uloom.

“On 27 January, my brother (Nazir Ahmed) was called by Police station Behibagh to submit some documents of his school for verification purposes and Nazir Ahmad Dar went to the police station with the said documents. Then at the police station, Nazir was advised to bring some more documents/ photocopies the next day (28 January 2023) morning at 8 AM in order to get the verification completed,” his brother said.

He added, on 28th January Nazir Ahmad Dar visited the police station after which he has been missing. “We tried to call him on his numbers 8899252074/ 9103212950 but our calls were getting rejected and since 6 PM of 28 January, his phone has been switched off,” he told The Kashmiriyat over the phone.

The family has also written to the concerned SHO asking the official to help them find Nazir so that he can reunite with his family.

Station House Officer Behibagh speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that he did not turn up for the verification for the second time. “The location he was last traced at was in Pulwama and his family is on their way to the location,” he said.
