Cockroach found in Kerala man’s lungs complaining of breathing issues

In a startling incident, doctors in Kerala extracted a 4-cm-long cockroach from a patient’s lungs, who was experiencing breathing difficulties.

The procedure, conducted on February 22 at Amritha Hospital in Kochi, was led by Dr. Tinku Joseph and his Interventional Pulmonology team. The cockroach disintegrated during the removal, potentially worsening the patient’s respiratory condition.

The intricate surgery lasted eight hours due to the patient’s pre-existing respiratory issues.

According to The People’s Network report, the cockroach entered through a breathing tube inserted in the patient’s neck during previous medical treatment. Dr. Joseph stated the patient has fully recovered and has been discharged.

Similarly, in Delhi, doctors at Sri Ganga Ram Hospital removed 39 coins and 37 magnets from a 26-year-old man’s intestine. He had been experiencing vomiting and abdominal pain for over 20 days.

The man had ingested the coins and magnets in an attempt to increase zinc intake, believing it would aid in bodybuilding.
