Amid bone-chilling cold, a large number of Congress party workers participated in a convention held at Kokernag. The participants of the convention raised the slogans – ‘Azaad Sahib Zindabad’ and ‘Congress Zindabaad.’
Senior Congress leader and the former Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad addressed the party workers at Club Park in Kokernag, Anantnag. A large number of congress leaders and workers participated in the worker’s convention.
Ghulam Nabi Azad reiterated his demand for statehood for the region ane said that assembly polls should be held after that. He said that the Delimitation commission should complete its process soon.

Azad said that he had iterated his demands for the region since the past 2.5 years and will continue to do so in the parliament. He said that the current demand of the party is that statehood be restored as soon as possible.
