Cordon and Search Operation Launched in Shopian Areas

Following specific inputs about the Militant movement, The Government Forces on Wednesday morning launched a Cordon and Search operation (CASO) in two areas of the South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a search operation has been launched 44 Rastriya Rifles, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF in the Reban and Nadimarg area of Shopian district in Kashmir.

All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed. A door to door search operation has begun, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.

Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched as an Anti Militancy operation on May 2, 2017, amid a rise in the local recruitment into Militant groups in the Kashmir valley.
