A counterfeit gold ornament racket has been busted in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that one accused Sajad Ahmed Zargar, a resident of Pulwama was selling fake gold to customers in the south Kashmir town, after which he was arrested by the Police.
The official said that Pulwama Police station had received a series of complaints against the accused Sajad Ahmed, who owned a jewelry shop in the Al Ahad complex in Pulwama town named Diamond Jewellers had deceived customers with counterfeit gold ornaments.
The complaint further added that the accused has been engaging in this fraudulent activity for an extended period.
The Police took the accused jeweller involved in the commission into detention and shifted him to a police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 210/2023 was registered at Police Station Pulwama, and a thorough investigation has been initiated.
