The Global pandemic covid 19, despite the authorities taking full-fledged measures to stop its furthering has claimed five lives in Jammu Kashmir on Monday till evening.
Hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat that five more people, all from the Kashmir valley who had been tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic died of the virus, mounting the death toll to 251.
A total of 163 persons from various parts of the Kashmir valley were tested positive at Viral Research and Diagnostic laboratory of SKIMS- the premier hospital of Kashmir valley, a total number of 751 people, 511 from Kashmir and 240 from jammu were tested positive in Jammu.
Shopian has 62 positive cases, 171 persons were tested positive in Srinagar, 40 in Baramulla, Shopian 62, Anantnag 11, Kupwara 03, Pulwama has 111 cases, Budgam 94, Ganderbal 10, Doda 32, Poonch 01, Kishtwar 22, Reasi 12.
Regarding the deaths, officials posted at SKIMS said that the deaths include a a lady (60) from Tankipora in Srinagar and 70 year old man from Zoonimar, in Srinagar.
The other three deaths include that of 60 year old man from Pulwama and a another man (65) who was a resident of Baramulla District in kashmir.
“The Man from Baramulla who was suffering from pneumonia besides other underlying ailments died at 9:40 AM on Monday morning,” the official told The Kashmiriyat.
231 people in Kashmir and 20 in Jammu have died so far due to the covid-19, an official posted at SKIMS told The Kashmiriyat. 520 people over all in the Kashmir valley have been tested positive.
The Administration led by Lieutenant Governor has appealed the general public to follow the norms to fight the novel pandemic, Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu also asked people to maintain physical distancing and wear masks.
Meanwhile, the cases continue to see a spike and the current tally is at 13899 positive cases, 5844 are Active Positive and 7811 have recovered.
The number of positive cases in India have crossed 11.2 Lakhs, while the death toll has reached 27,497, 38,902 persons have been tested positive for the infection in the last 24 hours in India. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases.
As per John Hopkins, Globally more than 6,06,000 people have died so far due to corona virus with USA having the maximum number of deaths.
