The COVID-19 death toll has reached 468 in Jammu Kashmir. A senior doctor along with 2 more people have succumbed to this deadly disease, overnight.
The officials reported that a senior doctor admitted at SKIMS Soura, due to COVID-19, for some time now died at 6:50 A.M. today. The doctor’s demise has been widely mourned “He was a very humble and a great human being who would go an extra mile in helping people. In him we have lost a great colleague and an asset,” said a colleague of the doctor.
Another, COVID related death happened at tertiary care hospital, in Baramulla District. A 65-year-old woman from Tangmarg, having various ailments had tested positive, lost her battle today.
Meanwhile, a 70-year-old woman from Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district who was suffering from multiple problems and had tested positive for COVID-19 recently died at SMHS hospital.
The officials said that the woman was suffering from “T2DM, hypertension, and bilateral pneumonia.”
The officials said that among the 468 deaths due to COVID-19 in Jammu Kashmir; 434 were from the Valley while 34 others from the Jammu division.
Srinagar district has the maximum number of COVID-19 related deaths,150, followed by Baramulla (82), Budgam (34), Anantnag (32), Kulgam (30), Pulwama (30), Kupwara (27), Shopian (24), Jammu (23), Bandipora (18), Ganderbal (7), two each in Rajouri, Doda and Udhampur besides one each in Ramban, Samba, Poonch, and Kathua.
India is seeing a spike of 64,399 cases and 861 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally rises to 21,53,011 including 6,28,747 active cases, 14,80,885 cured/discharged/migrated & 43,379 deaths.
