‘Data stands unmodified’: Kashmir University responds to data breach report

Responding to the reports of a Data breach, the authorities at the Kashmir University have said that the personal data of students and teachers has not been modified.

A University statement said that the alleged breach is being analyzed and as per the preliminary analysis it has been found that the data is unmodified, a Kashmir University spokesperson said in a statement.

“Any breach on data read (which is already accessible in the public domain) is being analyzed in-depth and depending upon the analysis, University will take further course of action and take an appropriate legal recourse accordingly,” the spokesperson said, as per the statement.

Earlier, a hacker had claimed that the hacker had got access to the personal data of over 1 million students of Kashmir University. The hacker put the data on sale for $250 on a hacking forum.
