Day ahead of Eid, Unidentified person jumps into Jhelum in Srinagar; rescue on

An unidentified person jumped into the river Jhelum here in Qamarwari area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Wednesday morning.

Eyewitnesses told the news agency—Kashmir Scroll that a day ahead of Eid ul Adha, one unidentified person jumped into river Jhelum from Cement Bridge Qamarwari Srinagar.

“The identity of the person could not be immediately known,” they added.

A police official while confirming the incident to Kashmir Scroll said that a teams of police including SDRF launched a search operation to rescue the person—(KS)
