Defective Alignment of Road Irks Tral Locals- “Some Houses were left, many Demolished for Road Widening”

Mohammed Mufeez

A Newly constructed road at Tral area of South Kashmir is a testimony of failed engineering wonder with defective alignment.

The Locals told The Kashmiriyat that last year Roads and Buildings department of Jammu Kashmir started constructing road with 30 feet width, because of which many houses and shops were demolished, but to the surprise of people many were left untouched due to some unknown reasons which resulted in the present mess.

As some houses and shops which were coming under road alignment were left untouched, it has rendered the idea of widening worthless thus resulting into the wastage of money.

The zig Zig road with a varying width is a matter of concern to locals who allege that a few officials of the concerned authorities resorted to money laundering and favouritism while demarcating the road.

The authorities have given up the idea of constructing small culvert near BazariĀ  Masjid Shareef, as was previously promised. The Locals have appealed DC Pulwama, ADC Tral & R&BĀ  authorities to look into the issue so that justice is done.
