The Contingent Paid Workers (CPWs) of the education department on Thursday staged a peaceful protest demonstration here at Directorate Office and later took out a rally to press enclave Srinagar, demanding the regulation of their services.
Carrying placards, banners, and shouting slogans against the education department. The CPWs working as sweepers, watchmen, and cooks in different government schools assembled here inside the premises of the Directorate Office and held a protest & later took out a rally to press colony for the redressal of their grievances.
” The government should either ensure our regularization or start engaging people to perform the duties that we have been discharging over the years,” they said.
Contingent paid worker (CPW) president, Mohammad Shafi Reshi told The Kashmiriyat that they convened a meeting with the Directorate of School education, and he assured them that their demands will be sorted out.
“I warned the administration if they will not take up our issue seriously by Monday and fail to address our demands. We will pour out onto the streets with our children, ” Shafi said.
They protesting contingent Paid workers appealed to the Governor led administration to intervene as early as possible so that their families are not affected further.
