In Amshipora, Shopian on the 18th of July, 3 young boys from Rajouri district were killed in an alleged encounter staged by the forces. The families of the boys have held the authorities accountable for delayed DNA samples that were collected 12 days ago for cross matching.
Muhammad Yousuf, father of Abrar Ahmad (one of the three boys) has said that in these advanced times DNA reports comes hardly in two to three days but it’s been 12 days since they have taken the samples and that they are yet to receive any information from the administration.
The families of the young boys have been waiting for the results, dubious of the authenticity of the reports. The families resorted to contact the higher authorities for the second time to coerce the results of the report.
Yousuf said that they have been patient and cooperative with the authorities for now and will try to contact higher authorities if need arises as the matter of concern is the innocence of their three sons and if they are serious about investigation then they should come up with matching DNA reports.
Families of slain youth also requested the police and authorities to do background checks on all the three families and if they can prove the slain as militants, then they have the full rights over them.
Yousuf said that if they prove all three killed boys as militants then he himself will exhume their bodies and ask army to shoot them again but if they can’t prove the legitimacy of the killed and found guilty of a fake encounter then they should give justice without wasting the families time and patience.
