Doda Locals accuse Times Now of running fabricated report, Planting people inside mosque with Indian Flag

Angry Locals in Doda’s Phagsoo area in Chenab valley on Friday staged a protest against the news channel Times Now over the alleged disrespect of a mosque in the area.

Speaking to the media during the protest locals from Phagsoo area said that the channel planted some people inside the local mosque and got a local politician holding an Indian flag without any information to any locals in the Chenab valley area.

“On Monday, Times Now Channel planted a few people in the mosque along with a local politician and dubbed them as locals and the politician as the Imam the mosque. The claims are totally false. We demand action against the news channel for running a fabricated story,” they said, adding, the man portrayed as the Imam is a politician who has contested elections thrice.

We also contacted the Indian Army regarding the event who feigned ignorance about the event, a protesting local said.

The channel aired a false report and it should apologize to the public for running such false news to deceive people. “It is shameful that our mosques are being used to spread such lies and spread false propaganda. The policy of the channel is always Anti-Muslim. It is the same channel that gave space to Nupur Sharma for insulting our Prophet,” the local said.

He said that the channel shall apologize for hurting the sentiments of the people in Phagsoo.

“We do not understand what was the motive behind running such a report. Why was not the Sarpanch of the area informed? Why was no local or their representative of thos area informed?” He asked.

Times Now had run a report showing a man, whom the channel portrayed as the Imam of the mosque, as announcing that everyone must hoist the tricolour.

The report also portrayed the mosque event as support for the PM Modi’s event ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

Narendra Modi led government has asked people to hoist or display the tricolour in their homes during August 13-15 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
