The residents of Duggapora in Nillow area of Kulgam are irked by the condition of electric wires and absence of electric poles in the area.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, locals said that the HT and LT wires are erected against the trees and sticks against residential houses in the area, which risks the lives of local residents.
“We have appealed to the PDD several times to erect poles in the area, as the wires run low and cause great threat to human life,” Abdul Rashid Dugga, a local resident said.
He said that it is unfortunate that the concerned department has delayed the process. “They might wake up to our genuine concerns only after someone dies of electrocution in the area,” he told The Kashmiriyat.
Appealing to the Governor-led administration to intervene, the locals said that the issue should be addressed before precious lives are lost.
