An encounter has broken out between militants and government forces in the Semthan area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday afternoon 3 RR of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a joint launched cordon and search operation in the Semthan area of Anantnag
During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said
Two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a massive exchange of gunfire is on in the area.
