An ecounter has started between militants and Government forces in the Brayihard area of Kathpora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday a joint group of RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in Kathpora area of Kulgam, launched a cordon and search operation.
The hiding militants opened fire on the troopers during the cordon, triggering an encounter. 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
As per locals, intermittent exchange of gunfire is going on at the site of the encounter.
