Encounter Breaks Out in Pulwama- Second in a Day

An encounter broke out between militants and Government forces in Dadoora area of Kangan belt in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team Indian Army’s 55 RR, CRPF’s 181 BN and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation on tip off about the movement of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

As per the officials, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that intermittent exchange of gunfire is on between the Militants and Forces.

Earlier two Militants were killed during an encounter that raged in the Yaripora area of Kulgam district in South Kashmir.

One of the slain was identified as a local while another was a Pakistani National, as per officials of the Jammu Kashmir Police.

They had also said that one rifle and one pistol was recovered from the possession of the slain Militants.
