An encounter has broken out between militants and government forces in Wokay (okay) area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday morning, 9 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 18 BN of CRPF launched a joint launched a cordon and search operation in the Wokay area of Kulgam.
During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said
Two militants are believed to be trapped.
As per the latest report, intermittent exchange of gunfire is going on.
