An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Heff Shermal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A Police official said that on Monday 1RR of the Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the Shopian area.
During the cordon, the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
As per the latest reports, the Government forces have evacuated the civilians near the encounter site which is a residential house.
