
Two Muslim youths were assaulted and their heads shaved by an extremist mob in the town of Pali in Hardoi, district of Uttar Pradesh.
The youths, who hail from Farrukhabad, were subjected to severe assault and humiliation by the crowd.
According to reports, the incident occurred near the Bari Field area of the Pali Municipal Council at around 4 PM on Monday. The commotion began when some residents spotted two young men engaging in conversation with two young women.
The girl’s sister and a relative of the young man were also present nearby, conversing at a short distance.
Upon noticing the them, a crowd gathered around them and started questioning them.
During the initial questioning, the crowd found out that they were Muslims. This revelation incited anger among some young men in the crowd, who then assaulted the duo. The crowd also called a barber and forcibly shaved off half of the youths’ hair and moustaches, further humiliating them.
The photos of the incident were shared widely on social media, sparking outrage and concern.
The police were notified and arrived at the scene to rescue the youths from the crowd. They took the youths into custody and are currently investigating the incident. As of now, no formal report has been filed regarding the case.
