People’s Democratic Party, led by its Pulwama MLA, Waheed u Rehman Parra brought in a resolution seeking the restoration of Article 370.
Article 370 was revoked on August 5, 2019 by the central government, a move which evoked widespread criticism.
On Monday, the first day of the first session of Jammu Kashmir assembly was convened and during the introduction PDP MLA Waheed introduced an independent bill on article 370.
Several videos have been circulated on social media with the claim that Jammu Kashmir National conference MLAs created ruckus in the house opposing the bill, however, upon a thorough check, The Kashmiriyat found that the claims are baseless.
The video has been widely circulated on social media through several handles, both on Facebook and Twitter.
“To people of J&K, these names & faces of NC MLA’s & 1 AAP MLA should be remembered for all times who today stood against the resolution of Article 370 & the restoration of special status, including their CM,” one such handle tweeted.

Another handle tweeted the video with the same caption,”To the people of J&K: remember the names and faces of these NC MLAs and 1 AAP MLA, who today opposed the resolution against Article 370 and restoration of special status, including their CM.”

The claim, however, is not true and the clip shown on the video is from another time during the proceedings on Monday.
The claim is inaccurate, as the clip shown in the video is from a different moment during Monday’s proceedings. In reality, it captures Omar Abdullah, the leader of the house, standing up to make his speech.
He clarified that the session was solely for introducing the bill and emphasized that, by law, there would be a specific time for introducing private bills.
Videos from the session clearly show that when the bill was introduced, none of the National Conference (NC) members opposed it.
Instead, a few members, including Sajad Lone, confronted the BJP, which caused a commotion and led them to demand the bill’s immediate withdrawal.
Today marks a defining moment in the J&K Assembly as @parawahid, joined by @MirMohdFayaz and Rafiq Ahmad Naik, introduced a resolution on behalf of PDP to oppose the revocation of J&K's special status.
