A family today staged a protest outside LD hospital allegedly claiming medical negligence for the death of a child inside the womb of the mother.
Raising slogans, the family held the registrar, Dr Qurat and some PG doctors responsible for the death stating that they refused to operate upon the woman despite their pleas to operate on her.
A female family member said that the doctors in the hospital are not less than ‘butchers’, and have no concern for their patients, nor the neonates.
According to Mehraj-ud-din, father of the deceased child, a resident of Nagam Chadoora, his wife’s labor pain started yesterday after which they rushed her to local hospital in Chadoora, from where she was referred to LD hospital as an emergency case.
“We admitted her and told them (doctors) to operate her as her water level was low, but to no avail. They didn’t even check the local consultant’s prescription who referred my wife,” he alleged
Mehraj added that till today morning 8 am, When we went for an USG, Dr Qurat said that my wife will be having normal delivery, I told her to operate upon her as I will give the written permission, but she did not listen.
“When we did the USG, radiologist told us that our child is dead from 4 hours and then she was taken to operation theatre,” dejected Mehraj said.
We want Dr Qurat, MD, RMO to be terminated so that this will not happen again, the family members said.
