For the second time in a month, National Conference President and former chief minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah was not present at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Srinagar.
Sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that despite being summoned by the department, this is the second time Abdullah has skipped visiting the ED office.
On Monday evening, the enforcement directorate summoned the NC president for questioning in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
On January 11, 2024, he was asked to appear before the ED office for questioning, but Abdullah also missed it.
In 2022, a chargesheet was filed against Farooq Abdullah in a money laundering case related to the alleged financial irregularities in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association.
The Enforcement Directorate, which filed the chargesheet, has questioned Abdullah several times. The three-time chief minister also recorded his statement in the same case in 2019.
Earlier, reports quoted Farooq Abdullah as saying that he is currently in Jammu and will go to the ED office when he is in Srinagar.
