A father and son have gone missing from their home in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Family members of the duo speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that around 1:30 PM on Saturday, some unknown persons came to their house in Turigam Kulgam looking for Bashir Ahmed Mir, following which the father-son duo have gone missing, causing panic among the family members.
“Someone knocked at the door of the house and my brother Zubair Ahmed Mir aged 22 came out to enquire. He was told that the persons at the gate were looking for Bashir Ahmed Mir. My brother went inside and called my father out. Following this both of them have been missing,” Faisal Mir, another son of Bashir Ahmed said.
Bashir Ahmed Mir is a serving inspector in the Power Development Department of Jammu Kashmir posted in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Three people had come looking for him and they had said something to my father following which my father left with them and my brother followed them, Faisal said.
“According to eyewitnesses, one of them was talking to my father in a car parked outside the house and Zubair was talking to one of them outside the car,” Faisal told The Kashmiriyat.
The family initially thought that Bashir was at work, but as kept growing dark in the night, panic spread around the house over the absence of Zubair and they started searching the duo everywhere, but to no avail.
The family has lodged a complaint in the concerned Police Station and appealed general public to help them trace the father-son duo. “Contact us on the phone number 6005733972, if you have any information about the missing persons,” the family appealed.
