The Jammu Kashmir police on Friday arrested five drug peddlers in the Kokernag belt of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A Police spokesman said that, upon specific inputs, a Police party headed by SHO police station Kokernag under the supervision of SDPO Kokernag apprehended five persons and recovered Charas from their possession.
He identified the arrested as Mohammed Rafiq Bhat, Mubeena Banoo, Anayat ullah Bhat, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, all residents of Soaf Shali Kokernag.

The fifth person has been identified as Sajad Ahmad Ganie, resident of Hangulgund Kokernag.
“5 Kgs of Charas (in form of balls) from possession of above mentioned accused and a case FIR NO 63/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS ACT Stands registered in this regard,” the Police spokesman said.
