An official of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department of Jammu Kashmir was allegedly assaulted in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the official was assaulted following a verbal brawl in the office of the Food Department in the north Kashmir district, following which four persons were arrested.
They said that a delegation from Khushhaal Pora Channad was pleading for the ration to be supplied through a sale center instead of a fair price shop in their area, which resulted in a verbal brawl.
After this, a physical brawl erupted for unknown reasons. The Kashmiriyat tried to reach the accused for their comments on the incident, however, they have been detained for physically “assaulting” the official.
“They tore the clothes of our employees and resorted to physical assault on me as well. Later the police came to the spot and took some persons into custody,” an employee of CAPD alleged.
The Jammu Kashmir Police has registered FIR in this regard and also arrested some of the accused.
Meanwhile, RTI Movement Baramulla resisted the attack on the assistant director of food Mr. Sheikh Tariq, and appealed to the administration to take necessary action against the “culprits.”
