October 27

The Family of Amir Ahmed Tantray who was killed along with three associates in Arwani gunfight on Thursday evening have accused Government Forces of committing excesses at their house in Waripora area of Damhal Hanjipora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District.

“They entered our house while people had gathered to mourn the death of Aamir and thrashed several mourners and vandalized the property inside the house, the also fired aerial shots in the compound of our house,” a family member told The Kashmiriyat.

With tearful eyes, she said her brother has already been killed, now they do not want any more harassment at the hands of Government Forces.

The forces entered inside the house and assaulted many mourners and smashed everything they saw with their guns, she told The Kashmiriyat.

“This was not enough, a few of them grouped outside our house and fired shots in the air forcing the mourners to run for safety,” She added.

As soon the news spread throughout the area, Locals in large numbers hit the streets and threw stones on the forces, who retaliated with intense tear smoke and pellet firing.

The clashes were going on when this report was being filed.

She asked for the intervention of Local Police and said that they should intervene into the matter and safeguard the family.
