Forest fire breaks out in Kulgam area

A massive fire broke out in the forest area of Kulgam district of south Kashmir.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat on Monday a fire broke out in the forest area of the Gudder area of Kulgam.

They said  said a team of forest department fire tenders rushed to the area to put the fire under control.

When last reports came in, fire in the area was going on.

As many as 4578 incidents of forest fire have been reported in Jammu Kashmir in the past one decade.

“In J&K, 4578 forest fire incidents have been reported during last ten years, and on an annual average, a total area of 1273 hectare has been impacted,” official documents revealed in 2021.
