Emmanuel Macron, the French President posters were found pasted on South Mumbai’s busiest road called Mohammad Ali Road after his biased remarks on Islam. This sparked widespread anger against the Islamic world.
Soon after the video went viral in which vehicles can be seen driving over the posters, the Mumbai police ordered and removed the posters of Macron from the road according to the reports said on Friday.
Macron has been receiving criticism from Muslim countries from all over the world over a cartoon row in France.
Also, the Islamic countries have started several campaigns to boycott French products. Including Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Palestinian territories. They (Protesters) also burnt the posters of Macron and French flag.
S Chaitanya, spokesperson of Mumbai Police has confirmed the incident and said the posters were promptly removed by the Pydhonie police after getting complaints about it.
“The video and incident is from yesterday. (The) Location is on Mohammad Ali Marg . Police reached the spot. These pamphlets were removed.”
No case has been registered so far.
