Ganderbal Areas Remain Disconnected, Locals Complain of Lazy Snow Clearance Operation

The fresh snowfall in Kashmir valley has forced the closure of most of the roads, and same is the situation in the Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir.

Though the department incharge, R&B department has started Snow clearance operation at main Roads and other link roads in Ganderbal district, several areas remain disconnected.

The roads, as per Locals, have been covered with a layer of snow and the clearing operations are in the process through the usage of JCB machinery.

Locals of the Sehipora Wayil told The Kashmiriyat that snow was not properly cleared in their village and when they asked contractor about this contractor replied, “I don’t care Go to governor he will clear snow.”

The road has been macadamisd by R&B but the contractor said that the road is not included for snow clearance.

Locals residents appealed concerned authorities to look into the maatter and keep the contractor accountable so that tax payers money is not wasted.

The Kashmiriyat contacted the Executive Engineer R&B Ganderbal Zaffar Qureshi who said, “The contractor was supposed to clear the road properly. I will look into the matter and necessary action would be taken.”
