Jammu Kashmir administration has approved a long-awaited proposal to address chronic staffing shortages in the School Education Department by creating 575 new lecturer positions.
This initiative aims to provide vital employment opportunities for the region’s youth, in line with the government’s efforts to improve education and tackle unemployment.
Sakina Itoo, a prominent political figure, announced the decision via X (formerly Twitter), confirming that the move is part of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s broader initiative to boost job creation in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We are fulfilling the Hon’ble CM’s promise to create jobs for the unemployed youth of J&K,” Itoo shared, emphasizing the significant steps being taken to enhance employment prospects for qualified candidates.
The newly created lecturer positions will soon be referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for advertisement and recruitment.
This large-scale hiring process is expected to rejuvenate the education sector, addressing long-standing vacancies while improving educational standards across multiple academic disciplines in the region.
