Ground Report-Horticulture Economy threatened due to Disease

The incessant rains, weather changes in the Kashmir valley have caused several disturbances in the normal growth of horticulture sector  and resulted in the spread of dreadful disease to the leaves of apple trees like Alterneria which is fast spreading fungal disease.

It directly impacts quality horticulture produce & disturbs economy of the fruit growers of the valley.

Majority of fruit growers of District Islamabad (Anantnag) while speaking to The Kashmiriyat have expressed their grief over the fast spread of the said disease.

The Officials said that there is also a threat of reduction in the quality horticulture produce in the coming season.

Senior Advocate & National Conference leader of Shangas Constituency Riyaz Ahmad Khan while talking to reporter of The Kashmiriyat has appealed the administration to rejuvenate their teams to assess the damage and  provide free fungicides to the fruit growers who are already over burdened due to the costly sprays to their orchards.
