Hailstorm Creates Havoc in Anantnag, Kulgam and Kupwara- Woman Dies in Flash Floods

Hailstorm in various parts of South Kashmir including the Anantnag and Kulgam districts caused havoc on Wednesday afternoon.

An official from Anantnag district told The Kashmiriyat that various trees and crops were damaged in the hail storm in the Damhal, Ara Khoshipora, Brinty, Hakura, Hakura Hail.

In Kupwara hailstorm damaged mustard fields in Khanbal, Kamah, Kralpora, Dahama, Shumnag, Warson, Guzriyal, Gungloosa, Hangnikote, Wadipora, Qalmabad, Waskura, Bader Heer, Yemlar Bala, Wara Pora, Bahadar Pora, Marat Gam, Gulura, Kulan Gam Bagh, Tuli Gund and Hangha in Kupwara district.

While the officials said that Pahlu, Devsar, Chater gam, Khara Gund, Churat in Kulgam district also witnessed a massive hail storm in which several trees and fields suffered massive damage.

Meanwhile a woman died on Thursday afternoon due to flash floods triggered by heavy rains in Larnoo village of Kokernag area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

She was identified as the 37-year-old Sakeena Begum, wife of Nazir Ahmad Itoo of Narsanger Larnoo Anantnag.
