Intense hailstorm has wrecked havoc in dozens of villages in Kulgam and Shopian district of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Affected locals told The Kashmiriyat that an intense haik storm on Saturday caused immense damage to fields in the Herpora area of Shopian and Aharbal belt of Kulgam district in south Kashmir.
They said that the hailstorm continued for nearly ten minutes And caused damage to paddy fields, maize crops, apple trees and almond orchards in the twin districts.
“We are mostly dependent on these crops for our livelihood and constant hailstorms have damaged our crops,” they said.
They appealed to the administration to compensate for their losses.
