The Handicrafts Department, Anantnag organized an awareness camp at Brah Ranipora Anantnag to aware the participants of various welfare schemes and programmes of the department.
It is pertinent to mention that this was 4th awareness camp this season and the department has been successful in reaching to a large section of the artisan community across the district.
The camp was inaugurated by AD Handicrafts/Handlooms Anantnag, Abhimanyu Singh. While addressing the artisans, the AD said that the camps are being organised to aware the artisans of various handicraft activities and the schemes associated with them. While emphasizing on the need to preserve the heritage crafts of J&K, he elaborated on the steps being taken by the department in this regard.
Mr Singh directed the concerned officers to ensure that the welfare schemes percolate down to the target groups. He also advised the entrepreneurs and societies to avail the benefits of these schemes.
The camp was also addressed by experts of handicrafts including AHTO’s & ACSK officers who apprised the participants and artisans about the latest techniques and welfare programs being implemented for the welfare of the artisan community.
On the occasion, the artisans were felicitated with certificates and were assured full support for the betterment and upliftment of their crafts.
The camp was attended by a large number of artisans, trainees, society holders besides officers of Handicrafts, Handloom and Industry and Commerce departments.
