Hindutva slogans scribbled on mosque walls in Maharashtra

Police in Maharashtra’s Beed district have filed a case after an unidentified persons wrote Hindu slogan on the wall of a prominent mosque, sparking communal tensions.

The incident, as per Indian Express occurred at the Markazi Masjid mosque in Majalgaon, prompting protests from the local Muslim community, who gathered outside the mosque and local police station demanding action.

Sub-divisional police officer Dheeraj Kumar stated that the slogan, “Shri Ram,” was written on the wall around 5 pm, leading to the filing of an FIR under section 295 for the intentional defacement of a place of worship.

Authorities are actively pursuing the perpetrator for arrest, the report added.
