The ailing healthcare of Kashmir has made news for all the wrong reasons in the recent past, ranging from medical negligence to doctors refusing to treat patients, however, the local administration seems to be doing less or nothing to stop such massive rise of complaints against the healthcare in the Himalyan valley of Kashmir.

In a similar case, the primary health care centre (PHC) in Krimshore area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam is defunct as the hospital has no basic facilities for the patients.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the locals alleged that the hospital was built to please the public of the area, but has no basic health infrastructure to help the hospital, which is visited by people from dozens of villages in this Central Kashmir district.

“There is no technician available in the hospital to operate the machines, so all the machines including the x-ray machine are defunct, adding to the woes of public in the areas,” a local resident said.

He told The Kashmiriyat that several doctors posted in the area were transferred during the ongoing global pandemic making the local populace suffer. “We appealed the health officials to provide a proper healthcare structure to thousands of beneficiaries a plenty of times, but our pleas seem to be falling on deaf ears,” a resident told The Kashmiriyat.

They appealed the authorities to look into the matter so the people of the area will not suffer more.
