On Friday, hundreds of Palestinians attended the funeral of Abdul Mutaleb Khatib, who was beaten to death by the Israeli police at the Maskubiyyeh detention center in occupied Jerusalem a day earlier.
Early morning on Friday, the citizens marched from the Al Aqsa mosque in Khatib’s funeral. In the wake of the event, the Israeli police imposed several restrictions on Khatib’s family, including burying his body at night.
The Family said that Abdul Muttaleb was beaten and tortured to death by the Israeli jailers at Al Maskubiyyeh. Various other detainees confirmed what the family said.
Muttaleb was arrested on Sunday by the Israeli Police. The Israeli Prison Service had announced his death four days after his death and claimed that he had died due to a heart attack.
The family had to publish pictures of his dead body in order to prove that Khatib was beaten to death during his detention at Al Maskubiyyeh interrogation center on Wednesday.
In the pictures released by the family, signs of injuries appear on Khatib’s head, face, knees, arms, neck, and teeth.
Abdul Muttaleb Al Khatib (43) was a father of 4 children and was waiting for twins to be born. As per the Israeli police claims, Khatib was detained because he had violated a traffic law.
