Husband wife among three peddling drugs arrested in Kulgam

Jammu and Kashmir Police on said to have arrested Three drug peddlers including husband-wife and recovered Contraband substances from their possession in South Kashmir Kulgam district.

A senior police officer told The Kashmiriyat that “police party from Police Station Yaripora headed by SHO PS Yaripora during surprise Naka checking at Badroo, Yaripora intercepted a vehicle (Alto) bearing registration number JK15-2063,”

The official added that during checking, officers were able to recover 10 gram of Brown sugar from the possession of the Duo (Husband and Wife) identified as Sajad Ahmad Baghat son of Ghulam Hassan Baghat and his wife Zamrooda both the residents of Kokergund, Yaripora. Both have been arrested and shifted to police station Yaripora and women cell kulgam where they remains in custody & also vehicle used in commission of crime was seized.

In another incident, after a specific information regarding presence of contraband substance Police party of police station Behibagh led by SHO Beibagh raided the suspicious location (residential house) of Ghulam Hassan Malik son of Ghulam Rasool Malik R/O Khee Jogipora (drug Peddler) at Khee Jogipora under the supervision of executive magistrate Katrasoo and recovered Poppy Straw weighing 14 KG. The drug peddler was arrested on spot.

He added that Regarding the incidents case with FIR No. 68/2022 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Yaripora and case with FIR No. 53/2022 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Behibagh.

Further investigation in both the cases is in progress. he added.
