
The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Thursday confirmed that an IAF aircraft inadvertently dropped a non-explosive aerial store near Shivpuri, causing damage to property on the ground.
In a statement posted on social media, the IAF expressed regret over the incident and announced that an inquiry has been initiated to determine the cause.
“The IAF regrets the damage caused today to property on ground, near Shivpuri, by the inadvertent drop of a non-explosive aerial store from an IAF aircraft, and has instituted an inquiry into the incident,” the IAF said in its official post.
No injuries have been reported so far, and further details about the extent of the damage or the type of aircraft involved have not been disclosed.
The incident has raised concerns about operational safety during routine flights or exercises over civilian areas.
