The Indian Federation for Journalists and Indian Journalist Union combinedly organized a web seminar to “unite” journalists across the globe with a focus on the journalists of Jammu Kashmir.
The seminar was coordinated by the senior journalist Imtiyaz Bazaz, who is also the Coordinator for Indian Federation for Journalists and the Indian Journalist Union in Jammu Kashmir.
The webinar primarily focused on the need for journalists to unite in these trying circumstances and address the problems they face while performing their duties.
Imtiyaz Bazaz, quoted by news agency Kashmir News Trust said, they have started a membership drive and hopefully, they will succeed in this endeavor.
“We want more and more journalists as members of this Union so that we can raise the voice and mitigate the sufferings of the scribes,” he said.
“Unity is the need of the hour and we must come forward and assemble under one platform,” he said adding that Indian Federation for Journalists and the Indian Journalist Union has pledged to protect the interests of journalists not only in Jammu Kashmir but across India.
