IGNOU opens July 2025 admissions for Kashmir and Ladakh; everything you need to know

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has opened admissions for the July 2025 session, inviting applications for a wide range of programmes across its 30 study centres in Kashmir and Ladakh.

Prospective students can apply online at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in or through the main university website, www.ignou.ac.in. The last date to submit applications is July 15.

This year’s cycle includes over 60 academic programmes, with new four-year undergraduate courses in disciplines such as Commerce, History, Political Science, Public Administration, and Urdu. IGNOU has also introduced postgraduate programmes in Geography, Geo-Informatics, Applied Statistics, and Renewable Energy.

To apply, students must register on the SAMARTH portal, create login credentials, and upload relevant academic documents along with a photo. A DEB ID is mandatory prior to application.

Dr A.H. Rizvi, Regional Director of IGNOU Srinagar, urged students to apply early and use only official platforms. “We are working to expand access to higher education in remote regions. Students should avoid unofficial links and not share sensitive information via WhatsApp or QR codes,” he said.

For assistance, students can visit the IGNOU Regional Centre at Saida Kadal, Rainawari, or contact 0194-3102402 / admissionrcsrinagar@ignou.ac.in.
