Illicit Timber Recovered by Forest Department in Ganderbal Kashmir

A large quantity of illicit timber was siezed in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on thursday morning.

An official of the Forest Department told The Kashmiriyat that a four wheeler Vehicle (Sumo) without number plate on its way to Kangan was siezed by forest employees along with Police in Panzin area.

He said that a large quantity of illegally smuggling timber was recovered from the seized vehicle which was being carried from Khanan to Kangan of Manasbal Forest Range.

The Station House officer Kangan said that a case in this regard has been registered at Police Station Kangan and further investigation has been started.
He added that the driver of the sumo vehicle and smugglers managed to escape from the spot but they will be soon behind the bars.
