In Bihar, At least six Sikhs assaulted for not donating for ‘temple construction’

At least six Sikhs were assaulted by a mob in Bhojpur, Bihar after they allegedly refused to make a donation for the construction of a temple, Police said on Monday.

As per news reports, around 60 devotees were returning to Mohali in Punjab after visiting the Takht Sri Harimandir Ji at Patna Sahib, when they were stopped for donations for the construction of a temple.

The truck driver refused to give any ‘Chanda’.

Soon, a scuffle broke out between the truck driver and the people. In support of the truck driver, the Sikh devotees also got involved.

In the scuffle that ensued, half-a-dozen Sikh devotees were injured, a Police official said.

The police have arrested at least five persons in connection with the incident.
