A Hindu woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur city has said that she was forced by BJP leaders to make a false conversion statement against her Muslim husband and file an FIR against him for forcibly converting her, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
The woman identified as Sapna Rajput, who runs a flower shop at a temple in Kanpur, said that the BJP leaders got an FIR registered against Naushad, her husband and she put her thumb impression on the FIR without understanding it.
The FIR registered at Feelkhana Police Station maintained that she was forcefully converted to Islam and married to Naushad. It added that Naushad forcefully circumcised her two and a half-year-old child. The woman later dismissed all the allegations against her Muslim husband.
”They came to me and said, your husband is Muslim. Kick him out or we will trap you as well,” she said. She added that Pankaj Mishra, Sanjay Tiwari, Archana and other BJP leaders were involved in the registration of false FIR against her husband.
Station House in charge Satish Chand was quoted by Bhaskar as saying that the BJP leaders named by Sapna Rajput are absconding. ”Action will be taken against them,” he added.
